Sarah Talbert
A graveside service will be 11 AM Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery officiated by Rev. David Hockett. The family will receive friends following the service.
Sarah was born September 2, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Thomas Allison Brumley and Maggie Heglar Brumley. She grew up in the Poplar Tent community and graduated from W.R. Odell High School in 1939. Sarah worked in Reception Services at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for 30 years, and was a long time member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Hubert Nolan Small and Edwin Talbert; five brothers, Thomas “Jack” Brumley, Frank Brumley, James Brumley, Harold Brumley, and Fred “Bud” Brumley. Sarah is survived by her sons, Parks Small, Edwin Small, and Tom Small; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Virginia “Tuck” Brumley James.
